Bind a custom component object to a plane

In this video, we bind a custom component handle to a plane by using a distance variable. Binding keeps the custom component at a fixed distance from the plane even if the surrounding objects change. We also edit the distance value to check that the binding works correctly. As you will see in the video, distance variables automatically get the prefix D (distance), which is shown in the Variables dialog box.
