Question:
I have to work from home / remotely, but I need to continue to access Tekla Structures.  My company does not have a VPN, how do I do this?

Answer:
The best solution would be setting up a Virtual Private Network (VPN). VPN allows you to continue working as if you were in the office with access your company's license server. Contact your local IT support team to get help with this.

If setting up a VPN is not possible, there is another option. The effective license has to be deactivated in the device in the office and then reactivated on the device you are using at home. See options for doing this below.

Two scenarios

  1. Local activation:  If you have a local license on your machine, you need to deactivate it at work and activate it again at home
  2. Server activation:  If you host all the licenses on a single server, you need to deactivate them all, then activate a single one on each user’s machine at home.

Please take a look at the links below, which show you the deactivation/activation process of Tekla Structures licenses.

Alternatively, you can use the License Borrow tool. Please see the links below for guidance.
