Question:

Is there any prerequisite (best practices) to import the drawing file (DXF/DWG) into template editor to create the Graphical template (Title Block/Table for Bill of Materials etc.)?

Answer:

This article sintroduces some  best practices to import the drawing file (DWG) into template editor are below. We use the Title block template as an example.
  • Keep your Title block in Model space.
  • Keep your Title block in 1:1 scale.
  • Move your Title block to 0,0,0 co ordinate.
  • Explode the Title block.
  • Keep only the required content. To remove all unnecessary content inside the drawing you can use the PURGE command to remove all unnecessary content/items.
  • Save the drawing (DWG) in earlier versions to ensure compatibility (Ex.2000-2002 version)

Now you can import your drawing (DWG) file into the Template editor to create the Title block (Graphical) template.
For more information, see the following video on how to import DWG into template editor to customise Title blocks.
