Question:
How to show user-defined attributes in Object Browser?
Answer:
The property definitions in the Objects Browser property template should be exactly the same as the definitions used in the Template Editor report. To find out the exact property name follow these steps:
- Open Template Editor.
- Create a new report.
- Create a row type that you need – for example, a Part row if you want to get a UDA of a part in Tekla Structures. (The row types in Template Editor correspond to the property groups in Object Browser, but Object Browser does not create the hierarchy of properties for UDAs.)
- Create a value field in the row.
- In the Values Field properties, click Attribute…
- In the Select Attribute dialog box, select the property that you need.
- From the Value Field Properties dialog box Formula field, copy the name of the property.

- In Object Browser, open the Settings dialog box, and create a custom property inserting the property from Template Editor.

- Now you can use the new property in the Object Browser columns.
