Sharing service login failed
Question:
When I try to log in to model sharing service, I get the error "Sharing service login failed". What can be the reason for this?
Answer:
One possible reason is that there is no model sharing license available. There is also approximately three hour time delay required to release a model sharing license when you are for example moving from one computer to another or when some other user is starting to use the model sharing license. If you have multiple computers, you reserve a license on each device. For more information, see Managing Trimble Identities and Tekla Model Sharing licenses.
Another reason can be that your user account is removed from one organization and moved to other organization. Administrator should contact Tekla support before moving employees from one organization to another. There is a safety feature that locks the changed employee account automatically to prevent unintentional organization changes. For more information, see this support article: Another user having pair at Company X is reserving the email address used by the current user at Company Y
Some other software might also block the connection to model sharing service. One example has been MyApps.
One reason can be that you are using old Tekla Structures versions 21.0 SP1 or 21.0 SP2, which are taken away of service. You should update to the latest Service Release, which is currently SR11 for 21.0 version.
Other possible reasons from previous customer cases:
- Firewall configuration changes
- Windows updates
- Sometimes updates to service can cause this, so check the latest status here: https://status.teklamodelsharing.com/

To get more information to the reason, it is also good to check the modelsharing.log file. There are more specific error messages, which might reveal the real cause for the issue. See also Tekla Model Sharing log files. |
