My Flat bars are appearing with metric thickness and metric length. How do I correct this?

Question:

I wanted to call out my flat plate profiles as FLAT3/8X3"1/2. When I enter the prefix FLAT as my flat profile prefix all my flat bars in my drawings appear as FLAT9.525X88.9, but the length is correct. How do I correct this?

Answer:

Tekla Structures does not recognize the prefix FLAT. You will need to define this prefix in the file called profitab.inp.
Here is a link that explains how to add a new profile to the profitab.inp file.
