Q: I have some reference files in MicroStation DGN format. I would like to view them, and eventually convert them to DWG or DXF format. How can I do that?
A: You can insert MicroStation DGN V7 and V8 format files into Tekla Structures as reference models (File menu > Import > Insert reference model) to be viewed in the model views and also available in drawing views.
MicroStation is developed by Bentley Systems. In case you want to review the DGN files in a separate viewer, Bentley offers a free of charge product Bentley View for viewing and printing DGN, DXF, and DWG files. Note that this is a viewer only, and cannot be used for converting a DGN to DWG/DXF. For converting DGN files to DWG/DXF format, you might want to seek advice from the Bentley Communities.
