Users can use custom anchor rods inside the system component, U.S. Base plate (1047).

There are four custom anchor rods available in both the US Imperial and US Metric environments.

First, you need to open up one of the custom anchor rods.

  1. Make the desired changes to the custom component.
  2. Save your changes accordingly. Then close this dialog box.

Again, the base plate thickness is controlled inside component 1047 (see image below in blue box), so you need to make sure you also enter this thickness in the custom anchor rod dialog (as shown above in blue box).

Before we look at using the above custom anchor rod component inside 1047, we need to understand which fields on the Anchor rods tab are available and which ones are inactive when custom anchors are used.
  • The blue shaded fields are not used when custom anchors are used.
  • The green shaded fields can be used to control a cast plate below the base plate.
  • The purple shaded fields can be used to control the grout.
  • The fields inside the red border are used to activate and control the custom anchor rods.

To utilize a custom anchor rod inside 1047 do the following;
  1. Set the Base plate with option to Custom component
  2. Set the Component field to the custom anchor rod component you modified above. Then in the Custom settings field, type in the name you saved in step 2 above.
  3. Enter 0" in the field shown here.

Either Apply the above setting to a new column or Modify a location in your model where you've already added component 1047.
