How to export phase number and name to IFC

Question:
How to export phase number and name to a one attribute in IFC export?

Answer:
If you clear the Layer names as part names option at the Advanced tab of the IFC export dialog box, then the phase number and name combination is written to the Layer attribute. The part name is shown as Product Name in Trimble Connect.

If the Layer names as part names option is checked then the part name, like “COLUMN” in the example above, is written to the Layer attribute.

Even if you would keep the part names as layer names, you can also add phase name and number as additional properties to the IFC export. For more information, see Defining additional property sets.
