How to change the format of the default numbering system

Question:
How can I change the format of the default numbering system for Part position and/or Assembly position mark numbers? I'd prefer to start the numbering at 001.
Answer:
Rather than the default start number being 1, there are advanced options which can change this format to be 001.
Open Tekla Structures and select the Tools tab. Navigate to Options and click Advanced Options.

Navigate to XS_ASSEMBLY_POSTION_NUMBER_FORMAT_STRING.
Under Value type the following command %ASSEMBLY_PREFIX%/%ASSEMBLY_POS.3%

Then navigate to XS_USE_ASSEMBLY_NUMBER_FOR.

Under Value type the following command MAIN_PART. Click Apply. Click OK.
This will set the main Part mark equal to the Assembly mark.

Now the numbering format has changed to 001 for both the Part position and Assembly position.
