How can I add profiles from other catalogs in Tekla Warehouse to my profile catalog?

Answer

Search in Tekla Warehouse for the profiles you want to use and select it.

You will typically see the options shown below:

 

If you have a model open in Tekla Structures and click the Insert into model button, the sections will be imported into the profdb.bin file in your model folder.

If you do not want to import the profiles into the profile catalog of the current model, click the Just download button. This will download the files you need to your computer. You can use this downloaded file at a later time to import the profiles into the profile catalog of the model you have open in Tekla Structures. See Import profile catalog items for further instructions on how to import profiles.

When you import the profiles, they are added to the profile catalog used by the currently open model and stored in a file called profdb.bin in the model folder.

If the catalog is only to be used in selected jobs you may want to copy the profdb.bin file only to the model folders of the jobs that need to use it.

If you wish to use the modified catalog in all future jobs, you can copy the profdb.bin file to your firm folder. For more information about setting up a firm folder see the articles Create project and firm folders and Firm folder.
