Failed to write out model changes. Failed to create data.
Question:
Our Tekla Model Sharing Write out is failing and we received this error message. What could be the reason?
Answer:
The error message is quite generic. There might be several reasons behind it, so please check the <model folder>\logs\modelsharing.log file for details. Check the links of the See also section of this article too.
One reason might be that this is caused by a long path of the Temp directory (Windows' default location is already quite long). To fix this:
Change the setting XS_SHARING_TEMP to a really short path (for example, C:\sharing).
We have also identified an issue with profile names containing diameter symbols (Ø). If a model contains parts (or cuts) created with such profiles write out cannot be done. At the moment you need to modify your profile catalog and go through the whole model and change all the parts (and cuts) so that they don't contain any profiles with diameter symbols. After this write out should work normally again.
