Crashing on Startup-Kernelbase.dll
Tekla Structures crashes when starting up due to Kernelbase.dll
If you get an error message when you start Tekla Structures and the software does not function properly, there might be some issues with your C++ installations. When Tekla Structures is first installed, it attempts to install C++ and .NET packages. However, if these packages are already installed, Tekla Structures might not install the packages properly, which causes Tekla Structures to fail to start.
The crash is usually listed in the Event Viewer in Windows. Click Start and type Event Viewer in the search field to find it. See the image below.
In the Event Viewer, look under the Level column for an Error. Highlight the Error line to see details about the error, similar to the image below.
In this example, the error relates to the KernelBase.dll file.
The KernelBase.dll file is installed when Windows and .NET packages are first installed. This error indicates that a DLL has most likely become corrupted and must be uninstalled or repaired. For detailed information about this process, see Repair & Uninstall/Reinstall C++.
