Insert Tekla Warehouse content into a Tekla Structures model

You can insert certain types of content from Tekla Warehouseservice for collaboration and for storing and sharing Tekla Structures content

In Tekla Warehouse the content items are stored in collections. Tekla Warehouse includes the Tekla Warehouse Service and the Tekla Warehouse web site.

Tekla Warehouse is one of the Tekla online services.

For example, you can add custom components, profiles, shapes, material grades, bolt assemblies, and reinforcement to Tekla Structures catalogs.

To insert Tekla Warehouse content into a Tekla Structures model:

  1. In Tekla Structures , open the model.
  2. Log in to Tekla Warehouse and do one of the following:
    • Use Search to locate the relevant content itemlogical group of content files

      A content item can be, for example, a product catalog or a model template. Content items can be labeled by type and use case to help find the content. Content items may have versions that work with different versions of Tekla Structures.

    • Go to My Warehouse and browse for the local or network collection from which you want to use content. Then select the collection.
  3. Select the content item to insert.

    If there are versions of the content, ensure that you insert the version that is compatible with your Tekla Structures version.

  4. Click Insert into model.
  5. Follow the installing instructions:
    1. Make a copy of your model before starting the installation in Tekla Structures.
    2. In the Tekla Warehouse content installer dialog box, select what happens if a conflict occurs, and click Start installation.
    3. When the installation is finished, click Exit.
The Tekla Warehouse content installer dialog box notifies you when the content has been successfully inserted into the model and allows you to view the installed items and their installation locations.

I cannot find this "Import from Tekla Warehouse" dialog box in TS2016. Where is it located?

The "Import from Tekla Warehouse" dialog box should appear in Tekla Structures. Do you have Tekla Structures and a model open?
