Create a collection in Tekla Warehouse

Before you can upload any content to Tekla Warehouseservice for collaboration and for storing and sharing Tekla Structures content

In Tekla Warehouse the content items are stored in collections. Tekla Warehouse includes the Tekla Warehouse Service and the Tekla Warehouse web site.

Tekla Warehouse is one of the Tekla online services.

, you need to create an online, network, or local collection. The collections group content together and help managing the content in Tekla Warehouse.

You can create online collections as an individual or as an organization. Online collections can be private or public.

You can create and use local or network collections when you want to avoid online cloud sharing, or when you want to control the access rights of your content.

Before you start:

  • Go to Tekla Warehouse and log in.
  • If you want to create an online collection as an organization, ensure that your Trimble Identityuser account to Tekla online services and other Trimble services

    For a Tekla Structures user, Trimble Identity is a single sign-on account which enables the user’s online identity management. The organization that the user’s Trimble Identity belongs to, determines the user’s access rights. Trimble Identity is needed, for example, for Tekla Campus and Tekla Warehouse, and to log in to Tekla User Assistance.

To create a collection, do one of the following:

Create an online collection
  1. Go to My Warehouse.
  2. Go to My collections.
  3. Click New collection.
  4. Select whether you want to create the collection as Myself or Organization.
  5. Enter a name and description for the collection.
  6. Define the visibility of the collection:
    • Private means that only you (or your organization) can view, search, modify, and download content in this collection.
    • Public means that all Internet users can view and search content in this collection, and only the users that are logged in to Tekla Warehouse can download content from this collection.
  7. Click Create.
Create a local or network collection (=Use a local or network folder as a collection)
  1. Go to My Warehouse.
  2. Go to Local and network collections.
  3. Click Create local or network collection.
  4. Enter a name and folder location for the collection.
  5. Click Add.
