Glossary tooltips in Tekla User Assistance

This service highlights some terms in the text, such as Tekla User Assistanceonline help and self-support service for Tekla Structures

Tekla User Assistance includes instructions, support articles, and instructional videos, and it offers a possibility for feedback.

Tekla User Assistance is one of the Tekla online services.

. A glossary definition pops up when you hold the mouse pointer on these highlighted words. We call these definitions glossary tooltips.

Turn glossary tooltips off and on

If you find the glossary tooltips distracting, you can turn them off in your user profile. If you are not logged in, the glossary tooltips are always enabled.

  1. Log in to Tekla User Assistance.
  2. Open your user profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Edit button.

  4. At the top of the page that opens:
    • Select the Disable Lexicon indicators checkbox to disable glossary tooltips.
    • Clear the Disable Lexicon indicators checkbox to enable glossary tooltips.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

The setting is used on all devices when you log in to Tekla User Assistance.

There is no glossary tooltip for a word I would like to look up

Try the glossary search box displayed on the Product guide pages, including this page. Many terms in the glossary are not highlighted in the text to avoid crowding the text too much. The main search may find information about terms that are not included in the glossary.

The glossary tooltip explanation seems wrong

The glossary tooltips sometimes show a definition that does not quite match. This is because the system matches the terms automatically with simple character matching. In some cases the glossary tooltip applies to a different use of the term. We are sorry about this, but we hope that you still find the glossary tooltips useful in most cases.
