Tekla Structures

Tekla Products and Tekla Online services use Trimble Identity for identification. You can use your Trimble Identity with several other Trimble product services services, such as Trimble Connect and SketchUp.

Trimble Identity provides single-sign-on access for Tekla Online services. You can sign in one service and then browse to another online service without a need to log in again. Find the services landing page here: http://www.tekla.com/services

Use Trimble Identity when signing in to Tekla products to access your online licenses.

How do I create a Trimble Identity?

To create a Trimble Identity, go to Tekla Online services and click Log in. From the Trimble Identity login page, click on Create new Trimble ID. Enter your information. You receive an email asking you to set your password. Click the link in the email to finish creating your Trimble Identity.

I have created a Trimble Identity but cannot log in. Why?

It is likely that your Trimble Identity is not verified. When you create a Trimble Identity, you receive an email to set the password of the Trimble Identity to the e-mail address you registered. Click the link in the email to set the password. After that, you can use your Trimble Identity.

I have forgotten my Trimble Identity password

On the Trimble Identity sign in page, select Forgot password?

Fill in your email address, and click the Reset password button.

Check your email inbox for email from Trimble Identity service. In the email message, click the Reset password button to set a new password for your Trimble Identity.

You can access Trimble Identity sign in page from all Tekla Online services by selecting the Login button on the upper right corner, or in Tekla Structures, select Forgot your password? from the sign in window.

Troubleshooting

I tried to reset my password but Trimble Identity does not recognize my email address and asks me to enter a valid email address.

Error says: "Sorry, we didn't recognise this user. Please enter a valid Email address." If the spelling of the email address is correct, this means that you don’t currently have a Trimble Identity with it. Click the Create new Trimble ID link on the sign in page, and proceed to create the Trimble Identity.

I reset my Trimble Identity password and now I cannot login with it. What is wrong?

Check you password. If it contains alphabets outside the range of aA-zZ, you cannot use it to login. Reset your password by selecting link Forgot password? and use allowed characters. Try logging in again.

I do not receive any emails from Trimble Identity, neither do my colleagues. What is wrong?

If the emails are not in your spam folder it is likely your company’s email firewall is stopping emails from arriving. Please contact your IT department and ask them to allow emails from *@trimble.com and *@trimblepaas.com and *@mail.trimblepaas.com. Also ask them to whitelist following IP addresses which are used when sending mails from Trimble Identity: 184.173.153.253, 184.173.153.218 and 54.191.127.27.

Trimble Identity uses Mailgun, and email delivary service, to send the account activation and other emails so mailgun or postgun appear in the mail headers of those emails.

I tried to enter a new password but Trimble Identity does not accept it. Why?

The password requirements are visible on the Set your password page. For security reasons, the password must at least contain:

  • 8 Characters
  • A digit [ 0-9 ]
  • A combination of lower & uppercase letters [ aA-zZ ] (note! Scandinavian letters are not allowed)
  • A special character [ !@#$%&*^_-+ ]

I used both uppercase letter and lowercase letters in my email address when I created my Trimble Identity. Does it make any difference?

No it does not make any difference. You can enter your email address, for example, like MyEmailAddress@mydomain.com, myemailaddress@MYDOMAIN.com or MYEMAILADDRESS@mydomain.com when registering, when resetting your password or when logging in. The services will always translate the email address to lowercase letters.

I used to have access to Tekla Online services but suddenly the service says I don't have needed access rights.

Clear the cookies and the cache from your browser. This forces the service to check your access rights again from the server.

Invitations

I received an email asking me to join an organization. What is this?

This means that your company’s account administrator has added you to your company’s organization in Tekla Online services. Usually this is the company you work for. Click the link to join the organization. If your organization has a maintenance contract with Trimble, you get access to additional content.

I received an email asking me to join a group. What is this?

This means that an administrator has added you to a user group. By belonging to a user group, you get access to features and services. Click the link to join the group.

I received an email asking me join as external user to organization. What is this?

This means that the administrator of the company has added you as an external user in order to be able to share licenses and accesses to you. Click the link to join the organization as an external user.

I deleted the email asking me to join an organization. What do I do now?

Click the symbol  at the upper right corner of any Tekla Online service. Then click My profile to view your information. You can see the request in the profile under Invitations.

Can I be an employee in more than one organization?

No, you can only be an employee in one organization at a time. This is the organization whose name is displayed as Company on your profile. In addition to this you can belong to multiple other organization as an external user.

I have been sent an invitation to join my Organization but have not received it?

Invitations to join an Organization sent from within Tekla Online Admin Tool are come from tekla.online@trimble.com. If you are having trouble receiving these then please ensure emails from *@trimble.com are whitelisted.

How do I change my profile information?

Click the symbol  at the upper right corner of any Tekla Online service. Then click My profile to view and edit your information.

Can I change the email address in my Tekla Online profile?

Yes, you can change your email address, for example, when you start working for a new company.

We recommend that you use a company email address, not a personal email address.

To change your email address:

  1. Sign in to your Tekla Online profile using your old email address.
  2. Click the Change email button.
  3. Enter your new email address and click Save. A confirmation email is delivered to your new email address.
  4. Sign out from your Tekla Online profile.
  5. In the confirmation email, click the link and sign in to your Tekla Online profile using your new email address.

 

If you have not yet joined your Tekla Online organization, you can ask the Tekla Online administrator in your company to send you an invitation to your new email address.

When you have accepted the invitation, you can start using the online licenses purchased by your company.

What does the Preferred language option do?

Preferred language option is used to pre-set the language of Tekla Online services where this functionality is available. If you do not set a language, or select one that is not supported in a particular service, English is used.

Who administers the user accounts?

Your company’s Tekla administrator administers your organization's user accounts and accesses in Tekla Online services.

I am an administrator. How do I access the Tekla Online Admin Tool?

On your profile page,  switch to the My Organization tab and click the Access Admin Tool button. Contact your local Tekla support if you need assistance.

I am an administrator. How do I invite users to my organization?

In the Tekla Online Admin tool, you can use the Invite employees button to open a dialog box where you specify the email addresses of the employees you would like to invite to your organization
