Installing Work plane manager

To install the extension:

  1. Download Work plane manager installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Install the file package.

Using Work plane manager

To use the application:

  1. Open a Tekla model.
  2. Click the Applications & components button

    in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog.
  3. Search for Work plane manager

    and then double-click to open it.
  4. The Work plane manager dialog window will open.

  1. To create a work plane click View > Set work plane > select one option for creating the work plane.

  1. Click the part (beam, column, etc.) or pick the defining points for creating the work plane.
  2. Enter the name of the work plane in the Name field. (eg. Work Plane)
  3. Enter a description of the work plane in the Description field. (eg. global)
  4. Click the Save button to save the new work plane.
  5. The created work plane will appear in the Work plane list field.

Application buttons

  1. Save button

    Use the button to save the created work planes.
    • If the given name already exists, a warning message will appear: 'Work plane "Work Plane" already exists. Overwrite?'

Note: The button is not active when the Name and Description fields are blank.

  1. Set button

Use the button when in the Work plane list is selected a work plane to show the defined plane.

Note: The button is not active when no row is selected.

  1. Delete button

Delete an existing work plane.

Note: The button is not active when no row is selected.

Additional information

  • If Tekla Structures is not open the user will get the fallowing message: 'Please Open Tekla Structure and a model!'
