Purpose and description

Makes placing thicken/turn down slabs easier. Allows the user to select the slab and multiple points to create the turn down edge. This tool also allows multiple options for defining the size of the thicken area along with cutting the thicken area flush with the slab. This tool is included in the Concrete Tools extension.

Installing Turn Down Slab

To install the application:

  1. Close Tekla Structures (if running)
  2. Download MSI Installer from Tekla Warehouse
  3. Install and run MSI Installer
  4. Start Tekla Structures
  5. Open Model
  6. Before version 2016:  A new toolbar icon which will launch the tool should now be visible. For 2016 version and newer: a new thumbnail under Ungrouped items in the Applications and components side pane will appear.

Using Turn Down Slab

To use this tool, the user needs to select an existing Tekla slab. The points that you pick will become where the thicken slab edge will be created. The user can select two or more points to define the thicken area. The order that you select need to be in a counter-clockwise rotation.

Picture Tab:

This tab allows the user to define how the thicken slab edge will be created. Select from the dropdown to change the options.

Option 1:

Define all the lengths of the thicken slab edge.

Option 2:

Define the depth and bottom width, slope is set by selecting A and B

Define the lengths of the shape (different than option 1)

Attribute Tab:

This tab allows the user to set the Name, Design Name and Design Group Mark. Also allows to have the ends fit flush with the slab and to add it to the cast unit.
