Dimension line spacing

This option defines the distance between the generated dimension lines.

This option is relevant in case two (or more) dimension lines are generated by the tool. For this, also see option Rebar group tolerance.

Text offset dimline

Rebar group tolerance

Define whether double stirrup groups are combined into one dimension line.

If the distance between the stirrups (in the image below 12 mm) is greater than the entered value (=10 mm), two dimension lines are created:

If the distance between the stirrups (in the image below 12 mm) is smaller than the entered value (=20 mm), two stirrup groups are combined into one dimension line:

If the shape of the stirrups is the same, the marks are also combined. In the image below as “2x 6 Ø 8”.

Part extrema

Define how to close dimension lines on the contour of the concrete part. The options are:

Examples

The dimension line is always positioned on the outermost lines of the concrete part:

The dimension line is positioned to the nearest side/geometry point of the concrete part relative to the picked insertion point of the dimension line (plugin). See the examples below.

Rebar lines tab

On this tab, you can define the generation and the appearance of the leader lines and symbols for the dimension lineline that visualizes the distance between the defined dimension points

Separate dimensions can be combined into a longer dimension line.

. You can apply this for Not visualized rebars, Visualized rebars, Group end rebars and Part edges:

Option

Description

Define the generation of the leader lines and symbols for the Not visualized rebars. The options are:

No leader lines and symbols.

Leader lines. Define the length of the leader lines relative to the dimension line.

Leader lines and symbols. Define the length of the leader lines relative to the dimension line.

Leader lines. Define the length of the leader lines relative to the contour of the concrete part.

Leader lines and symbols. Define the length of the leader lines relative to the contour of the concrete part.

Leader lines. Define the length of the leader lines relative to the rebar.

Leader lines and symbols. Define the length of the leader lines relative to the rebar.

Only symbols.

Define the generation of the leader lines and symbols for the Visualized rebars.

See the examples in the option Not visualized rebars.

The options are:

Define the generation of the leader lines and symbols for the Part edges.

See the examples in the option Not visualized rebars.

The options are:

Define the generation of the leader lines and symbols for the contour of the concrete part.

See the examples in the option Not visualized rebars.

The options are:

Define the color and the line type for the various leader line types. The options are:

Define whether all leader lines /symbols are shown in Visualized rebars or not, or if this should be done only at one single rebar. The options are:

Define the size and the color of the applied symbols.

Also define the shape of the symbol. Use the available symbols in Tekla Structures by selecting a symbol file and a symbol number:

This help file is outdated for TS 2018. Dialog boxes look different and setting don't seem to have and effect as expected.

Hello George,
Yes, this page is for older versions for the extension version of the tool.
The extension has been moved to be part of Tekla Structures installation and the help documentation is now in the main version TUA pages:
