The rebar crank plug-in allows user to create the cranked laps for reinforcement in RCC structures

How to Locate

‘Rebar Crank’ plugincomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API

Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

is available in 'Applicationpart of Tekla Structures functionality that is developed in order to extend the capability of Tekla Structures but that is not included in the Tekla Structures installation

and Component' after installation.


Click the icon ‘Rebar Crank' from 'Application and Component'. User has to pick the parent rebar or rebar groupgroup of reinforcing bars that are side by side and have identical properties, except the possible variation in bar lengths

and then the next rebar to which the crank lap is to be done.

This plug-in dialog box contains following tabs.

Crank ratio
Using this option the crank can be specified in the ratio 1: X

Using this option the crank distance can be specified

Lap length
The lap length can be modified which is shown as “200” in the above picture

Crank orientation
There are several options available to orient the cranked bars as shown in the picture below.

Additional Information

This plugin works for rebars and it is useful for cranked laps especially in columns or other parts where the size of the concrete member changes.
