PEB End plate to flange rotated

The PEB End platecomponent object that represents a plate welded perpendicular to the end of the component secondary part

allows you to create an end plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.

How to locate

The installers are available at Pre-Engineered Building Tools for Tekla Structures version 21.0 and above.
After installation, PEB End plate to flange rotated will be available in the Applications & Components.

 

Usage

Click PEB End plate to flange rotated in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications

The term component catalog is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.

. The input components should be PEB member. The primary and secondary web should be perpendicular and the rotation angle of the secondary should be 90 degrees.

Interior column connection:
Select the rafter component first, and then the column component as input for an interior column connection.

End plate connection:
Select the primary component first, and then the secondary component as input for an end plate connection.

End plate and insert plate can be defined from here. You can modify various values based on the end plate length options and insert plate options.

The term ’tolerance’ is used in its general sense in Tekla Structures.

In a model the term ’tolerance’ should not be used to refer to a gap.

Cut length determines whether the bolt will go through one flange or two, for example.

Unlike in other PEB connections, here Bolt XY list is provided considering the various connection conditions.
  

Parts

You can define part parameters such as width, thickness, part prefix, part number, material, name and classpart property that groups parts according to identifiers given by the user

The identifiers of classes are usually numbers. Classes can be used for defining the color of parts in the model, for example. Class does not influence the numbering of model objects.

on this tab. If plate profile name is default, it reads from Menu>Settings>Options>Components>ProfileNames>Plate. The same profile name is applicable for stiiffeners also.
 
 

Far and near stiffeners have separate options. Top weld notch can also be defined separately.
Weld notch value is common for all notches.

Tips

For this extension to work properly, the secondary member should cross both flanges of the primary member.
