This extension enables the user to manage openings in the model. The user is able to name the opening, define the opening type and to define the symbol type on the drawing, which will represent the opening.

After the installation, the Opening Symbol Manager Extension can be found in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications
The extension is started from the component cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

The user can get the openings from selected model objects or from selected drawings. In the model the selection can be done by selecting openings, parts, cast units or pour units.
Shows the current name of the cut object. This name can be changed here.
Determines the opening type of the cut object. This can be selected from a dropdown list.
The opening types are read from an objects.inp file which is delivered with the installation. The name of the file is objects_OpeningSymbolManager.inp. you can find it here: ..\Environments\common\system
The attribute is called: DISPLACER_TYPE
Determines whether a dummy object is created within the cut object.
Determines which properties this dummy object should have.
You can either select the property directly or you choose Auto which then takes the right property from the Setup.

Usually a single object property includes a default value that the user can modify.

Here you can define the symbol (type, lines and fill color) for the openings in a main or top viewdefault view that is created using the part’s or component’s coordinate system and that shows the part or component from the top direction
Part’s top view is a view on part plane created of the part’s top plane.
You can choose from these symbols.
Determines which properties this dummy object should have. This is used when Auto was selected in the main extension.
Saves the Setup. These information’s are stored in the OpeningSymbols.dat file in the system folderfolder that is used for storing Tekla Structures-related files that define default settings
This button will close the Setup dialog box.
This will close the applicationpart of Tekla Structures functionality that is developed in order to extend the capability of Tekla Structures but that is not included in the Tekla Structures installation
The opening symbols will not be visible on the drawing automatically. The drawing plugin needs to be started manually.
The extension is started from the component catalog by double-clicking on the icon. The following dialog box opens:
After the drawing is open, the Opening Symbol Applicator Extension can be found in the component catalog.
The drawing plugin is applied to all selected objects (Drawing, Views or parts). The symbols which are defined in the setup will be created.
