Purpose and description

Use Neighbor grids and compass marks component to include additional information about the location of an assembly in assembly drawings by indicating the neighboring grids and/or the compass directions in assembly views.

Installing Neighbor grids and compass marks

To install the extension:

  1. Download the Neighbor grids and compass marks installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Install the file package.

Using Neighbor grids and compass marks

To use the extension:

  1. Open a model..
  2. Open a drawing.
  3. Click the Applications & components button  in the side pane to open the Applications & components cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

    For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.

  4. Search for Neighbor grids and compass marks and then double-click to open it.
  5. The Neighbor grids and compass marks dialog window will open.

Note: Make sure that the Gridmodeling aid that represents a three-dimensional complex of horizontal and vertical planes

In Tekla Structures, grids are used as an aid in locating objects in a model. The grid is shown on the view plane by dash-and-dot lines. It is also possible to show grids and grid line labels in drawings, and to modify grid properties in the drawings.

It is possible to have more than one grid in a model. For example, a large-scale grid for the entire structure, and smaller grids for some detailed sections.

    These fields are not active if Neighboring grids is selected in the Mark type list

Application buttons

Option Description
Show/Hide Use to show/hide Text and Mark placing options.
Create Use to create marks using the properties from the dialog box.
Delete Use to delete all the created marks.
Cancel Use to exit the program.
