Multi Depth Stiffener

The Multi Depth Stiffenercomponent object that represents a structure that strengthens a steel beam or column

Stiffeners are usually plates.

Stiffeners are used to prevent web buckling at supports or concentrated loads.

plugincomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API

Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

allows you to create multiple stiffeners (profiles/plates) at given distances on the beam plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

The user can define the shape of the contour plate parallel to the work plane. The profile in use defines the thickness. The corners of the contour plate can be chamfered.

. It is useful for creating stiffeners in a PEB Member, Hoper plates, or any other beam or contour plate.

How to locate

Installers are available at Multi Depth Stiffener for Tekla Structures version 21.0 and above.
For older versions, download at Multi Depth Stiffener old installers.

After installation, the Multi Depth Stiffener plugin is available in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications

The term component catalog is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.

Usage

Click Multi Depth Stiffener in the component cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.

. Select the member with the Select component selection switchswitch used for controlling which object types can be selected

on if the member is created using PEB Member, or the multiple webs with the Select objects in components switch on if the member is created manually.

Note: Use component selection mode for applying stiffeners on PEB Member.

Note: Use the part selection mode if the input is not a PEB Member (for example, beam plates, contour plates, exploded PEB Member, and so on).

Stiffener arrangement and set-out


You can create stiffeners at specified distances with given top and bottom offset.

1) Offset from picked point.
2) Distances between stiffeners.
3) Stiffener offset value from top flange / top edge.
4) Stiffener offset from bottom flange / bottom edge.

Stiffener depth options

You can select different conditions for stiffener depth.

  Full Depth Stiffener, the height of stiffener irrespective of the depth of the web.

Near side/ Far side switch off option


You can delete any particular near side or far side individual stiffener by giving stiffener number.

Parts

 
On the Parts tab, you can control the following stiffener properties:

-Thickness
-Width
-Part prefix
-Start numberfirst number of a numbering series


-Material
-Name
-Classpart property that groups parts according to identifiers given by the user

The identifiers of classes are usually numbers. Classes can be used for defining the color of parts in the model, for example. Class does not influence the numbering of model objects.

Tips

Error handling

The above error message on a solid error may sometimes be displayed. There may be two reasons for this:
• Spacing may be more than the total solid length of the main member to which the stiffener is applied. Reduce the spacing to achieve the desired result.
• Spacing may need to be reversed by giving negative values (-500 -1000 instead of 500 1000) because the stiffener distribution direction may be the opposite direction of what the user expects. This depends on the main member orientation.
This is just a warning message. If it does not affect your requirements, you can continue without any change.
