Member split

This Tool will help to split the members in various ways. It includes the following features.

  • Split the columns at specified levels (Column auto split).
  • Split the beams against columns.
  • Split the floor beams against main beam (connected to column).
  • Split the floor beams against other floor beams (based on depth, specific weight).
  • Split the beams by picking trimming line and other beams.

How to locate

Installers are available at Split tools

After installation, the 'Member split' is available in the 'Applications & component' cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.

Usage

Select the members which requires split, select appropriate option from dialog and click 'Perform split'.

Split beams [Pick by line]

The selected beams are split at intersection point of picked line.

Split beams [Pick by beam]

The selected beams are split at intersection point of other picked trim line beam. This method is useful do operation continuously.

Split beams [Pick by multiple beams]

The selected beams are split at intersection points of other picked trim line beams.

Selection type

The following options are available in 'Selection type'

Options Description
All Split operation is perform on all members in the model
Selected Split operation is perform on only selected members in the model

Column split levels

The 'Selected or All' columns in the model is split at the specified levels. If the check box is unticked, then column split is not considered for split operation.

Split beams at columns

The following options are available in 'Split beams at columns'

Options Description
Yes The 'Selected or All' members are split at intersected columns.
No This split operation is not considered.

Split beams against main beams

The following options are available in 'Split beams against main beams'

Options Description
Yes The 'Selected or All' members are split at intersected main beams. Main beam is considered when at least one end connected to column.
No This split operation is not considered.

Split beams against other beams

The following options are available in 'Split beams against other beams'

Options Description
Not split This split operation is not considered.
Highest depth The 'Selected or All' members are split at intersected floor beams, which are highest depth.
Highest unit wt. The 'Selected or All' members are split at intersected floor beams, which are highest unit wt.
