Purpose and description

This tool is part of  the Framecad integration extension. The tool is used to import framecad detailer .fim files. The .fim file format  was developed by framecad to enable integration with 3rd party applications such as Tekla Structures. The file contains the 3d model informationinformation stored to the model

Model information covers, for example, model objects, and drawing and project information.

as detailed in framecad detailer. The purpose of this import is to update the Tekla Structures model with elements created in Framecad detailer.

To use the extension:

  1. In the Applications and Components browser, locate the Import from Framecad macrosaved series of actions that includes instructions for a program

    Macros are located in the applications and components catalog. They are recorded or created manually and stored as .cs file in a folder defined with the advanced option XS_MACRO_DIRECTORY.

    Macros can, for example, be used for creating drawings or reports.

    Macros are sometimes used to run an application.

    then double click the icon.
  2. In the dialog click the browse button (...) and locate the fim file to import.
  3. The .fim file should contain the profile dimensions and an appropriate CC profile will be used. If the file does not contain profile data the Default profile will be used.
  4. click import
