A condition in this context is a set of formwork components (custom parts, parts or items) in the model making the formwork at special locations in the walls like a corner, bulkhead at end of wallplate that represents a structure such as a wall or roof panel
In Tekla Structures, a panel is created by picking two or more points.
In cast-in-place concrete the term wall refers to a concept similar to panel.
or a pilasters. Each different type of a special location is its own condition type. The formwork placing tool is currently supporting eight different condition types
Each condition consists of two or more sub-assemblyassembly in a nested assembly that is subordinate to a parent assembly
of formwork components depending on the condition type. For example L-corner contains the inner corner assembly (1) and the external corner assembly (2). When inserted into the model the location of these assemblies is controlled with main insertion points and the two wall thickness parameters.
You can start inserting of the conditions by selecting the preset condition in the tab page 'Conditions' in the main dialog and clicking button 'Insert new'. Please note that each type of condition have its own setting and the content of drop down list varies depending which conditions are available.
When inserting a condition hover over the desired location in the model viewview that is represented in the modeling mode
Model view is available also in the drawing mode and it is represented in its own window.
. The tool is automatically recognizing the condition type and wall thickness parameters. The tool preview shows two arrows and an illustration of the condition items to be created after you click the left mouse button. The red arrow indicates the first direction and the green arrow indicates the second direction. In this condition example the longer panel will become parallel to the red arrow, and shorter panel will be parallel to the green arrow. Depending on the case you may "switch" the arrows by moving the mouse on the other side of the edge.

|With these settings you can select the condition to be created. The selection is specific for the type of condition.
By clicking the image you can select the 'current' condition type.
|In this area of attributes you can modify the dimensions controlling the location of condition sub items in relation to the insertion reference.
Please note that when inserting a new condition these dimensions will be overridden by the calculated values based on the actual insertion location and condition type.
|By clicking the button 'Insert new' you can start inserting new conditions.
In some cases the tool may not recognize the condition type correctly. For example if you want to insert an L-corner to a location where the other side of the wall is very short it may happen that the tool is trying to insert a corner pilaster. By checking the box 'Only selected type' and clicking the L-corner image (to make it 'current' condition type) you can force the tool to insert L-corner into that location.
|With this value you can offset the condition vertically from the bottom of the wall.|
|You can insert two or more conditions stacked vertically by entering the number here.|
|This height value will be used as height of one stack if/when conditions are stacked.|
|With this setting you can control how the condition items are inserted in case of 'left handed' situation. With option 'Rotate' the condition is always 'switching' the red/green axis's to a 'right handed' situation whereas the option 'Mirror' allows the 'left handed' placement.

|It can be defined which filler type should be used while placing the condition including a filler.|
|By clicking this button you can open the dialog 'Condition setup' which helps you to modify the existing conditions and/or create and define new conditions.|
Definition of a new condition happens in two phases. First you need create the needed sub-assemblies and once you have all needed sub-assemblies available you can define a new condition by giving it a name and specifying which sub-assemblies are used in the new condition.
Easiest way to define a new condition or modify existing condition definition is to use the 'Condition setup' dialog which you can open by clicking the button 'Configure' in the tab page 'Condition' of the 'Formwork placing tools - walls' dialog.
|Conditions are stored in external data files (xxxx.FormworkTools.Conditions.csv).
From this dropdown you can select the file to add, modify or delete the defined conditions.

|After you have made any changes to the conditions you can save the changes by clicking the 'Save' or 'Save as' button.
By clicking button 'New' you can create a new empty file.
|With the dropdown list you can select the current 'condition type'.
The list box below shows the existing conditions if any. If you have one or more existing condition of the selected type you can select the current condition in the list view. When the condition is selected the current definition values are shown and can be set or modified in the right side of the dialog

|The condition have the supplier and family properties. The condition are available only when supplier and family are matching.
The condition names shall be unique. It is good to have some naming convention so that the name is as descriptive as possible.
|Depending on the condition type there can be 2-5 sub items. One condition must have at least one sub item defined as otherwise it is creating nothing.
By clicking the '+' button you can launch the correct sub-assembly wizard to create a new sub-assembly. For a corner sub-assembly the 'Formwork corner sub-assembly wizard' and for panel sub-assembly the 'Formwork panel sub-assembly wizard' is launched
By clicking the 'Test' button you can verify what will be the output of the selected sub-assembly.
For testing the sub-assembly please pick a point in some free area in the model as the tool creates the sample wall and the sub items with 'right handed' and 'left handed' situation.
After testing you can delete the extra model objects or use the 'Undo' command to get rid of the test model.
|The total height of the condition can be calculated automatically based on the selected sub items or the height can be given.
The total height is used as the spacing value when two or more conditions are stacked vertically. If the condition contains some parts sticking out and this part shall be overlapping in stack you may need to enter the total height manually.
|With the option 'Left/right handed corner' you can test and verify how the 'Mirror/Rotate' option affects the output of the condition.|
|By clicking the button 'Test condition' you can test and verify the output of the whole condition (including all sub items).
For testing the condition please pick a point in some free area in the model as the tool creates the sample wall and two conditions with 'right handed' and 'left handed' situation.
After testing you can delete the extra model objects or use the 'Undo' command to get rid of the test model.
The corner sub-assemblies are created using the tool 'Formwork corner sub-assembly wizard'. You can launch the wizard either from the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications
The term component catalog is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.
or by clicking one of the '+' buttons in the 'Condition setup' dialog at item which requires a corner sub-assembly.
Before launching the wizard you need to model the external and/or internal corner in the model.
Once you have created the corner formwork you can start the wizard.
First pick the 'corner point', this point will be placed exactly to the external (or internal) corner of the concrete in the wall in the final condition situation. Please note that after picking the point the wizard steps forward automatically. You can step back to re-pick a new point.
In the second step you need to pick the point showing the direction of the 'first' wall (typically the red arrow in condition placing).
In the third step you need to select all formwork items 'belonging' to the 'first' wall. In practice these formwork items will be parallel to the first wall when placing the sub-assembly of the condition.
In the fourth step you need to pick the point showing the direction of the 'second' wall (typically the green arrow in condition placing). In normal case this is perpendicular to the 'first' wall.
In the fifth step you need to select all formwork items 'belonging' to the 'second' wall. In practice these formwork items will be parallel to the second wall when placing the sub-assembly of the condition.
In the final step you just need to give the file name to store this corner sub-assembly. Click finish to close the wizard.
All corner sub-assemblies are stored in the folder 'Formwork tools' in the model folderfolder that is used for storing files associated with a model
Tekla Structures stores all files associated with a model in a folder it creates with the same name as the model database (.db1).
In multi-user mode all users access the same model folder.
. To be re-used in other models you can copy/move these files along with the condition setup files into any of the system (XS_SYSTEM etc..) folders. Please keep in mind that in order to use the conditions in other models all custom components used by the conditions shall be existing in the component cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists
For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.
The panel sub-assemblies are created using the tool 'Formwork panel sub-assembly wizard'. You can launch the wizard either from the component catalog or by clicking one of the '+' buttons in the 'Condition setup' dialog at item which requires a panel sub-assembly.
Before launching the wizard you need to model the formwork panel and all neccessary accessories.
Once you have created the formwork structure you can start the wizard.
In the first step you need to pick the center point of the panel sub-assembly, this point will be placed exactly to the center of the concrete wall in the final condition situation. Please note that after picking the point the wizard steps forward automatically. You can step back to re-pick a new point.
In the second step you need to pick the point showing the direction of the wall.
In the third step you need to select all formwork items 'belonging' to this panel sub-assembly. Once you have selected the items click 'Next' to go to the next wizard step.
In the final step you just need to give the file name to store this panel sub-assembly. Click finish to close the wizard.
All panel sub-assemblies are stored in the folder 'Formwork tools' in the model folder.
