Field / buttonDescription
Table view                                                                           This table shows a list of cranes including the crane name, visualization color of the crane and the number of assemblies/cast units currently assigned to the crane. Use the table to select the active crane for assigning assemblies or cast units to the crane, and for visualizing the crane lifting capacity.

ColorButton.png
Click the button to open the color dialog box to change the color of the crane.
Edit cranesClick this button to open the Crane properties dialog box. In this dialog box, you can edit the properties of the crane and/or create new cranes. The usage of the dialog box is explained in the next paragraph.
Add craneClick this button to open a dialog box where you can select one or more existing cranes to be added to the list in the table view. Notice that if you do not have any cranes defined, this button is disabled. In that case, click the Edit cranes button to define a crane.
Remove craneClick this button to remove the crane from the list in the table view. Select the crane or cranes in the list and click the button.

If any assembly or cast unit is assigned to the removed crane, the assemblies and/or cast units are unassigned from the crane.
PreviewClick this button to see a preview of all selected cranes in the model view.
Select by craneClick this button to select the assemblies and/or cast units assigned to the cranes selected in the table view.
Assign to craneClick this button to assign the selected (in model view) cast units and/or assemblies to the selected crane (in the table view).
Unassign (selected)Click this button to unassign all selected (in model view) assemblies and/or cast units from any crane.

From this list, you can select the current coloring scheme.
  • No coloring - no coloring in the model view
  • Color by crane - when this option is selected, the assemblies and/or cast units are colored with color of the crane
  • Color by utilization ratio - when this option is selected, the assemblies are colored according the utilization ratio. Colors from cyan to green indicate that the assembly can be lifted. An assembly with red color is either too far from the crane or is to heavy to be lifted at distance from the crane using the color 'scale' below. 
Note that the last option is coloring only assemblies/cast units assigned to the currently selected crane(s). The easiest way to select all cranes is to click the leftmost white box in the header row of the table view.

Select the crane from the list.

Click Save to save the crane lifting capacity diagram and location into a file with a name.

For a new crane, type the name of the crane into the name field.
 
X, YYou can input the crane location. Click the Pick from model button to pick the location in the model view.

Fill in the lifting capacity diagram in this table. You can enter any number of values by inserting new rows to the table.

Delete the row by selecting the row and clicking the Delete button.
PreviewClick this button to see the crane lifting diagram visualized in the model view (see the example below).
  
  

 

Custom template properties

This extension implements two new custom properties related to the crane lifting capacity.

Template fieldDescription
CUSTOM.CRANE_CAPACITYThis is the utility of the crane lifting capacity as a decimal number. When the value is in the range of 0.0 ... 1.0, the assembly/cast unit can be lifted with the given crane from the given crane location. A value greater than 1.0 indicates that the assembly/cast unit is either too far or too heavy.

A value -1.0 (negative) indicates that the crane name is not set or that the crane is missing.

The crane name is stored into the assembly/cast unit using the user-defined attribute:
  • CRANE_NAME
The crane location is always taken from the crane file.
CUSTOM.CRANE_DISTANCEThis is the distance between the center of the gravity point of the assembly and the location of the specified crane.
