Exclude List macros

Hide Drawing Attributes ending with BOM

AVAILABLE IN: DRAWINGS

The amount of attributes in the Assembly drawingdrawing that shows fabrication information for a basic or a nested assembly, including bolts and welds, and that is generally used at the workshop

Assembly drawings show how parts are located in an assembly. They contain the parts of the assembly presented in one or more views.

is unfortunately very full because we need to support both Assembly Drawings with BOMs and Multi-Drawings production. However, you can easily turn off those ending with_BOM by using this macrosaved series of actions that includes instructions for a program

Macros are located in the applications and components catalog. They are recorded or created manually and stored as .cs file in a folder defined with the advanced option XS_MACRO_DIRECTORY.

Macros can, for example, be used for creating drawings or reports.

Macros are sometimes used to run an application.

.

This macro appends the values set in the XS_ATTRIBUTE_FILE_EXCLUDE_LIST variable.

Use this macro if you don’t use the out-of-the-box attributes that end in with_BOM. It will automatically add the text with_BOM to the end of the exclude variable in the model’s options.ini file. If options.ini file does not exist in the model, it will create it and add this variable and value. If the file does exist, but does not contain the exclude variable, it will add the variable and the with_BOM text. It will close the drawing, restart the model, and return to the drawing you were in when you ran this macro. See next image for Assembly Drawing drop-down list, before and after this macro is used.

NOTE: These exclusions will also minimize the Single-Part Drawingdrawing that shows fabrication information for one part and that is generally used at the workshop

drop-down list.

Hide Drawing Attributes with US prefix

AVAILABLE IN: DRAWINGS

The amount of attributes in the Assembly drawing is unfortunately very fully, because we need to support both Assembly Drawings with BOMs and Multi-Drawings production. However, you can easily turn off those begin with US by using this macro.

This macro appends the values set in the XS_ATTRIBUTE_FILE_EXCLUDE_LIST variable.

Use this macro if you don’t use the out-of-the-box attributes that begin with the prefix US. It will automatically add these text values, USA;USB;USC;USH;USL;USN;USP;USR; USS, to the end of the exclude variable in the model’s options.ini file. If options.ini file does not exist in the model, it will create it and add this variable and value. If the file does exist, but does not contain the exclude variable, it will add the variable and the US prefix text values. It will close the drawing, restart the model, and return to the drawing you were in when you ran this macro. See next image for Assembly Drawing drop-down list, before and after this macro is used.

NOTE: These exclusions will also minimize the Single-Part Drawing drop-down list. You may need to modify the US prefixed exclusions to have more characters if you have any others saved attributes that contain the same letter combinations.

Return Exclude List to Default

AVAILABLE IN: DRAWINGS

Use this macro to undo the changes made to the XS_ATTRIBUTE_FILE_EXCLUDE_LIST variable by the two macros; Hide Drawing Attributes ending with BOM and Hide Drawing Attributes with US prefix. It will clear the values of this variable and replace it with the default out-of-the-box text. This macro will also close the drawing, restart the model, and return to the drawing you were in when you ran this macro.

Starting in v21.1, the above Macros are available in all US Environment Roles

  • Cast In Place (hidden)

  • Engineering (hidden)

  • Precast Detailing (hidden)

  • Steel Detailing
