Purpose and description

Use Erection Drawing component to create plan/elevation drawings using a selected grid.

System requirements

Installing Erection drawing

To install the extension:

  1. Download the Erection drawing installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Install the file package.

Using Erection drawing

To use the application:

  1. Open a Tekla model that has GA drawings already created.
  2. Click the Applications & components button

      in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog.
  3. Search for Erection drawing

    and then double-click to open it.
  4. The Erection drawing dialog window will open.

  1. Make the desired modifications (if needed).
  2. Select the main part (column/beam/contour plate).
  3. Click on the Create button.
  4. Select the/a grid.
  5. The drawings are created.

Application properties

  1. General Options

    1. Plane

      FieldDescription
      GA Attribute fileDefine the GA attribute file type.
      The options vary depending on the environment.
      Model view attribute fileDefine the model view attribute file type.
      The options vary depending on the environment.
      Text description for drawing titlesDefine the text description for drawing titles.

      Plan grid lines drawing are created first after them the Elevations.
      The checkbox enabled/disables the Generate Options for Plane option.

    2. Message text

      FieldDescription
      Message textShows a message in the status bar.
      • When the tool is not running there is no message displayed.
      • When the tool is running the following message will appear: Please select a grid.
      • After the grid is selected the following messages will appear: Creating plan drawings -> Creating elevation drawings.
      • After the tool finishes the following message will appear to inform the user: Plan and elevation drawings created.
      If only Plan option is checked then the message will be: Plan drawings created and if only Elevation is checked then the message will be: Elevation drawings created.
    3. Elevation

  2. Options

Application buttons

CreateUse to create drawings using the properties from the dialog box.
CancelUse to exit the program.

Additional information

  • The tool also creates model views when clicking the Create button.
  • Every time you click on the Create button a new set of model views is created. The name of the model views will have a different number at the end which represents the number of times the model view was created.
  • If you want add spaces in the drawing title, they need to be added in the Drawing name prefix.
  • The created drawings will have at the title the text from the Text description for drawing titles + the name of the view.
