Edge preparation details

Purpose and description

Use Edge preparation details component to create automatic section views and chamfer dimensions for parts containing edge chamfer.

Installing Edge preparation details

To install the extension:

1. Download the Edge preparation details installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
2. Install the file package.

Using Edge preparation details

To use the application:

1. Open a Tekla model.
2. Click the Applications & components button

   in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog.
3. Search for Edge prerparation details
   Image

   
   and then double-click to open it.
4. The Edge preparation details dialog window will open.

5. In Tekla Structures open a single part drawing.
6. Make the desired modifications then click the Create button.
7. The application window will ask you to select a view.

8. The dialog shows a progress bar indicating the creation progress.

Note: If you want to create the dimensions on another view, you can click the Cancel to stop and the creation of dimensions will be stooped

9. The dimensions and section view are created.

Application properties

1. Creation options

4. Advanced options

   Section cut direction	Define the section cut direction.
