Cut Open Angle

In Transmission Towers, when an angle ('L') section (primary) leg surface is not parallel to ground level but the angle section (s) which is going to connect (seating) with the primary is parallel to the ground, then 'Cut Open Angle' tool can be  used to cut open or close the primary leg to create a seating surface for the secondary(secondaries). It is a nested componentcomponent that consists of several components

Nested components include elements that are modeled as sub-components.

and it make use of components 1050, 1051.

How to locate

The installers are available at Transmission Tower Collection. After installing, Cut Open Angle come under Transmission Tower Collection in the Applications & components. Or else search for Cut Open Angle in Applicationpart of Tekla Structures functionality that is developed in order to extend the capability of Tekla Structures but that is not included in the Tekla Structures installation

& components. Icon for Cut Open Angle as shown below.



Input for this extension:

Clicking on the icon ask for pick first member (primary). Then second member (s) (secondaries). After selecting the secondaries interrupt with middle button. The primary angle leg cut open to match with the secondaries.

1 Option to cut open for some distance or open up to the nearest end.
2 Offset 1
3 Offset 2
4 Additional angle if user want to increase or decrease a gap between primary and secondaries.

Direct Manipulation Features

The Cut Opean Angle is equipped with direct manipulation features. This get enabled by activating the following 'Direct Modificationfunction that activates the mode where the model objects can be modified by using handles

The user can customize the contextual toolbar.

The term mini toolbar is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.

is a mini toolbar which gets opened once click on component in 'Select Components' and click on cubic button as shown below. Please make sure that the Direct Modification (D) switch is active. This enable user to change frequently used attributes very ease with out opening extension dialog.
