Custom Attributes

Few attributes are available in model but cannot be called in reports. This extension installs a set of new variables & which allows to use them wherever it is required such as in reports, marks as templates, drawings, API, filtering, object representationrepresentation of a model object or an object group in a model view, such a representation being based on the color and transparency settings applied to the model object or the object group

How to Locate

After successful installation of Custom attributes setup , you can find all the three report templates
in <EnvironmentFolder>\Environments\Common\system
 
Reports can also be accessed form  Drawings & Reports  Menu -> create Report Dialog
The following report templates will be available after installation.

1. Part_BeamPlate_OR_ContourPlate.rpt
This reports whether plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.

(2) plate that represents a steel structure

(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.

is modelled with contour platepart whose outline form the user defines by picking three or more points

The user can define the shape of the contour plate parallel to the work plane. The profile in use defines the thickness. The corners of the contour plate can be chamfered.

2. Part_WorkPointsLength.rpt
This reports the workpoint length of Part.

3. Connection_Missing Report.rpt
This reports whether connections exist at Member ends.

4. Quantity in assembly
This attribute is useful to call in single part quantity in part markmark that includes a set of selected property elements related to a part

Part marks are made use of, for example, when identifying constructions, when giving information about welding, when giving information about assemblies to a workshop, when giving information about how parts should be connected to each other, and when creating bills of quantities.

In the US, the term piece mark is used to refer to position number.

Usage

In report templates and part marks you can call below attributes and also they are available in sample reports which comes with installation.

1. Beam plate or Contour Plate

Go To Drawing & Reports ► create report
Select the sample report Plate_Beam Plate OR Contour Plate from dialog.

Pick members which you want to check & generate report
 

Report will be generated , click on ID to highlight the part.
 

2. Work pointdimension point that is based on reference points or reference lines

A work point can be either a part reference point, or an intersection of reference lines.

In bracings, for example, the work point is where the brace reference line intersects the main beam or column reference line. For example, the location of bolts is then dimensioned from this work point.

Go To Drawing & Reports ► create report option
Select the sample report Part_WorkPont Length from dialog.

Pick members which you want to check & generate report

Report will be generated , click on ID to highlight the part.

3. Missing Connection Report
Go To Drawing & Reports ► create report
Select the sample report Connection_Missing_report from dialog.

Pick members which you want to check & generate report
 

Report will be generated , click on ID to highlight the part.
 

Limitation : This works based on component origin from end of the member hence it won't give appropriate results at top of the column.

4. Quantity in assembly
Double click part mark ► Add "User-defined attributeobject property created by the user in order to widen the range of predefined object properties

User-defined attributes are used when the predefined object properties are not sufficient but more properties are needed. For example, comment, locked, and erection status are user-defined attributes.

"► enter "CUSTOM.QTY_IN_ASSEMBLY"►Modify part mark

This adds the quantity of single part in mark as highlighted in red in below image.
