Purpose and description

Use Curve dimensioning component to create a dimension line stretching between the center of the circle and the circumference. Also you can create a diameter dimension.

Installing Curve dimensioning

To install the extension:

  1. Download the Curve dimensioning installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Install the file package.

Using Curve Dimensioning

To use the application:

  1. Open a Tekla model.
  2. Open a Tekla drawing.
  3. Click the Applications & components button

      in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog.
  4. Search for Curve dimensioning

    and then double-click to open it..
  5. The Curve dimensioning dialog window will open.

  1. For creating manual radius (
    Image

    ), manual radial (

    ) and manual diameter (

    ) follow this steps.
  1. Pick the first point.

  1. To create the dimension, you have two choices:
    1. Middle click to create the dimension;
    2. Pick the point where to insert the dimension and then middle click to create the dimension. The dimension will then be placed along the picked point.

  1. For creating automatic radius (

  1. Pick the part.
  2. Pick a point on the curve (on the part) – must be avoid the corners, since if it’s a corner of the part it would result in a error message: Creating dimension fail.

  • Open a Tekla drawing;
  • Dimensioning -> Dimension Properties -> save attribute.
