Purpose and description

Makes placing isolation areas around steel column much faster. This tool cuts the slab and creates the fill area around the column. This tool is included in the Concrete Tools extension.

Installing Column Isolation

To install the application:

1.  Close Tekla Structures (if running)
2.  Download MSI Installer from Tekla Warehouse
3.  Install and run MSI Installer
4.  Start Tekla Structures
5.  Open Model
6.  Before version 2016:  A new toolbar icon which will launch the tool should now be visible. For 2016 version and newer: a new thumbnail under Ungrouped items in the Applications and components side pane will appear.

Using Column Isolation

To use this tool, the user needs to select an existing Tekla slab and then a column that is passing through the slab.
Picture Tab:
This tab allows the user to set the size of the opening that the fill is created with, rotation of the fill area (based on the column) and depth of the isolation joint.Parts Tab:
This tab allows the user to set the Name, Material, etc of the Fill object and the Joint object that is created.
