Built-up Angles

The Built-up Angles plug-incomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API

Plug-in is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plug-ins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

allows user to create the built up angle beam along with spacer plates.

How to Locate

Installers are available at Built-up Members
After installation, the ‘Built-up Angle’ plugin is available in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications

The term component catalog is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.

group 'Builtup Members'.

Usage

Click the last icon in the above tool bar. The user has to pick the start point and end point and the built up angle beam will be created.

Batten Symmetricity
Available Options Description
  Non symmetrical batten plates
  Symmetrical batten plates
Batten Options
Available Options Description
  Horizontal and vertical batten plates are created alternatively.
  Only horizontal batten plates are created.
  Only vertical batten plates are created.
  No batten plates are created.

  Vertical batten plate is created at start
  Horizonal batten plate is created at start

Bolt centers – Along Brace
These values are distance list and each distance represents bolt centers for each batten plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.

(2) plate that represents a steel structure

(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.

in the order of creation. Please note that bolt centers within single batten plate is same. Based on bolt centers, the number of bolts are calculated based on batten plate width.

The gauge details can be entered manually or else you can select automatically based on standard gauges.

Additional Information
When we change the type, then we have to modify twice to get proper assembly UDA’s.
