Purpose and description

Use Arm diagonal brace component to create diagonal braces between the top and the bottom legs of truss and the vertical braces.

Installing Arm diagonal brace

To install the extension:

  1. Download Transmission tower tools installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Install the file package.

Using Arm diagonal brace

To use the application:

  1. Open a Tekla model.
  2. Click the Applications & components button  in the side pane to open the Applications & components cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

    For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.

  3. Search for Arm diagonal brace and then double-click to open it.
  4. Create two arm profiles (L profiles) in the same vertical plane.
  5. Select the main part(1) part that exists in a building object and that determines the position number for the assembly or cast unit and the direction of assembly or cast unit drawings

    (1) Main part can be an assembly main part or a cast unit main part.

    (2) input part that the user selects first when creating a component

Use Picture tab to control the dimensions of the parts created in the Arm diagonal brace component.

The Parts tab can be used for defining properties for the parts created by the Arm diagonal brace component.

Parameters

The Parameters tab can be used for defining properties for the diagonal braces created by the Arm diagonal brace component.

      1. Brace orientation

        Option Description
        No brace
        Type 1 - Default
        The braces are placed so that the shorter leg is connected to the part.
        Type2
        The braces are placed so that the longer leg is connected to the part.
         Type 3
        Same as Type 2 but rotated.
        Type 4
        Same as Type 1 but rotated.

          Description Default
        Define the offset of the left brace.
        This option is not visible if No brace option is selected in the Brace orientation list.

        Define the offset of the right brace.
        This option is not visible if No brace option is selected in the Brace orientation list.

        1. Brace direction

          Option Description Defaukt
          Creates the diagonal brace from left bottom to right top.
          Creates the diagonal brace from left top to right bottom.
