Area Reinforcement

The Area Reinforcement plugin automatizes the process of reinforcing walls and slabs. It
creates custom rebar meshes that cover the faces with bigger area of the part.
These custom meshes may have different distances between bars and also bars of different sizes.
The user should select the sizes of the normal bars and the extra bars, as well as the
distances between them. At the same time, the user specifies where the extra bars should be
placed and the amount of them. With this information and the geometry of the part, the plugin
calculates where to put all the bars. Finally these custom meshes are inserted within the wallplate that represents a structure such as a wall or roof panel

In Tekla Structures, a panel is created by picking two or more points.

or slabplate that represents a concrete structure

In Tekla Structures, a slab is created by picking three or more points.

Slab may be part of a floor, for example.

Objects created

 • Front reinforcement meshreinforcement that represents a mesh of steel bars in two perpendicular directions

In Tekla Structures, the reinforcement mesh bars in one direction are called main bars and reinforcement mesh bars perpendicular to them are called crossing bars.

 • Back reinforcement meshreinforcement that represents a mesh of steel bars in two perpendicular directions

In Tekla Structures, the reinforcement mesh bars in one direction are called main bars and reinforcement mesh bars perpendicular to them are called crossing bars.

 • Additional reinforcing bars

Using Area Reinforecement

1. Activate the plugin by click the Area Reinforcement thumbnail and select the part to be reinforced.
2. Pick two points to indicate the direction of the longitudinal bars.
3. The custom meshes will be created according to the settings and the geometry of the part.
