Position number consists of a prefix, separator, and running number. The prefix is part of the position number, identifying a numbering series. The running number is part of the position number, and is the assigned number in the numbering series, based on the start number. The separator is an optional character, such as a slash, that separates the prefix and the running number.

In Tekla Structures, the position numbers assigned in the numbering are shown in marks and templates, for example.

In the US, the term piece mark or ship mark is used to refer to a position number.

For example, a cast-in socket is an embed that is placed in concrete structures to allow parts to be fastened together on site. In Tekla Structures, embeds are typically steel parts and they are added to cast units as sub-assemblies.

A Tekla Structures user can, for example, customize a company’s cloning templates and save them in a sub-folder located under the firm folder. After this, the customized cloning templates can be used in all projects carried out for the company.

A reference model is created in Tekla Structures or in other software and can be inserted to Tekla Structures. The reference model appears together with the model but it is not modified by Tekla Structures. The user can snap to reference model points.

For example, an architectural model, a plant design model, or a heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) model can be a reference model.

The segments of the polybeam are straight, but segment intersections can be curved. For example, a beam that follows a zigzag line is a polybeam.

There are still some limitations:
- Only one bolt groupgroup of bolts that forms a connecting building object between an assembly main part and secondary parts

The number of bolts in a bolt group depends on the bolt group shape and the values of bolt distances.

Object level settings can be defined when creating a new drawing or when modifying an open drawing.

Object level settings can be use in a drawing or in a drawing view in order to change the representation of the chosen drawing objects.

TTSD-38479 Drawings

Document managertool that is used for listing and managing drawings and other types of documents

With the document manager the user can, for example, reorganize, update, freeze, lock, and delete drawings.

The user can also organize file documents, such as PDF, NC, and DWG files, and drawings, in document categories, and search documents and open drawings.

Document manager is replacing drawing list from the version 2018i onwards.

: Previously, when swapping between models with Document manager active, and if the old and new models had the same collection of data gridmodeling aid that represents a three-dimensional complex of intersecting grid planes or intersecting grid planes and curved grid surfaces

The grid is defined by coordinates in 3D space. It is shown two-dimensionally on the view plane by dash-and-dot lines. A grid can be rectangular or radial.

It is possible to have more than one grid in a model. For example, a large-scale grid for the entire structure, and smaller grids for some detailed sections.

It is also possible to show grids and grid line labels in drawings, and to modify how they are shown in the drawings.

Some marks that were created in cloning were pointing to a wrong location, and the context menu did not always show for cloned marks. These have now been fixed.

Part marks are used for identifying constructions, for giving information about welding, for giving information about assemblies to a workshop, for giving information about how parts should be connected to each other, and for creating bills of quantities, for example.

In the US, the term piece mark is used to refer to position number.

In Tekla Structures, associativity only relates to one type of drawing objects, namely associative objects. These can be building objects and associative annotation objects.

In Tekla Structures, the term associativity has traditionally been used when referring to the linking of drawing objects to model objects. In other modeling contexts, however, the term associativity may refer to any kind of linking between model objects or parts of a model by using dependencies.

Automatic markmark that Tekla Structures creates in a drawing based on the mark properties of a building object

The XS_IGNORE_CUT_VALUE_IN_TEMPLATE advanced option now works correctly when its value is set in an .ini file.

The advanced option XS_USE_RECESS_SYMBOL_FOR_BORDER_AND_CORNER_RECESSES did not work correctly. This has now been fixed.

TSAC-4975 Drawings

Rebar pull-out picturesmall graphic in a reinforcement mark, table, or report template that shows the shape and dimensions of a reinforcing bar

TSAC-4371 Drawings

Some recesses were not dimensioned, if a cast unit contained a large number of recesses of various sizes. This has now been fixed.

Drawing 2D Library: The Explodeto ungroup the objects that are parts of another object or a component

In Tekla Structures, it is possible to explode components, cast units, assemblies, bent plates, parts that have attached parts, and drawing shapes and plugins.

The exploded objects cannot be reverted back to the original group.

TSAC-3093 Drawings

Drawing 2D Library: Fractions in imperial dimensions were not properly visible, because the dimension text fields were created with opaque background.
Now the dimension text fields have transparent background, which solves the visibility issue of fractions in imperial dimensions in 2D details created with non-native dimensions.

TSAC-3069 Drawings

Drawing 2D Library: There was a problem with uppercase letters changing to lowercase in detail names when you had details in the firm and project folders. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-41149 Tekla Model Sharing

Sketched profiles with variable sections are now updated correctly in shared models.

TTSD-41077 Tekla Model Sharing

Previously, imported sketched profiles in shared models could have parameters in the wrong order, which resulted in wrong geometry. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-40843 Tekla Model Sharing

Synchronizing information from a firm folderfolder that is used for storing Tekla Structures-related files customized for a particular organization

A Tekla Structures user can, for example, customize a company’s cloning templates and save them in a sub-folder located under the firm folder. After this, the customized cloning templates can be used in all projects carried out for the company.

With a shared model, each user works with their own model and the changes are shared through Tekla Model Sharing. A shared model requires the use of a single-user model. The same model cannot be a shared model and a multi-user model.

TTSD-42419 Reinforcement

Sometimes the Copy special > To another object command did not copy rebar set cuts if the source object was the parent concrete part. This has now been fixed.
