New features and improvements

In addition to fixes, Tekla Structures 2019i SP5 delivers useful improvements in pour calculation, rebar sets, and IFCfile format commonly used in BIM that facilitates software interoperability

In the .dat file, it is now possible to add additional grids for strandreinforcement that represents a group of wires spun together

patterns. The new grids can be assigned to a strand pattern by adding the stand pattern name after the gridmodeling aid that represents a three-dimensional complex of intersecting grid planes or intersecting grid planes and curved grid surfaces

The grid is defined by coordinates in 3D space. It is shown two-dimensionally on the view plane by dash-and-dot lines. A grid can be rectangular or radial.

It is possible to have more than one grid in a model. For example, a large-scale grid for the entire structure, and smaller grids for some detailed sections.

It is also possible to show grids and grid line labels in drawings, and to modify how they are shown in the drawings.

Also, the Pull value boxes on the Strand pattern tab are now enabled when the distances are defined by an external file. It is now possible to overwrite the pull of a strand. If the pull value is empty, the pull values of the .dat file are used.

The contents of the hidden templates in drawings are no longer calculated, which reduces the drawing opening time.

TTSD-35568 Drawings

Previously in some environments, after you moved a table in Layout editortool that enables editing the table layout directly on a drawing

In the layout editor, it is possible select which tables are included in the table layout and where they are placed. The table scale, and rotation and overlapping with drawing views can be adjusted.

, you could not select the table again by clicking it. This has now been fixed.

The arrow symbol 0 (no arrow) is now always available in drawing properties, view properties and mark properties, despite the values in the arrows.txt file.

Perpendicular leader lines for marks in drawings now retain their shape when you drag them while holding down the Shift key.

In single-part, cast unit and assembly drawings, Tekla Structures sometimes incorrectly combined end views so that only one of them was visible, and both had an A symbol. This happened only in view-specific dimensioning if you had selected something else than Integrated dimensioning. This has now been fixed.

Previously in some cases, items were misplaced and incorrectly oriented in GA drawings. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-34134 Drawings

Now when you add a polygon with a fill in a drawing, Tekla Structures will not start showing the fill before the polygon has at least three points.

Tekla Structures could hang while opening a model if files were being modified in the folders tracked by Document managertool that is used for listing and managing drawings and other types of documents

With the document manager the user can, for example, reorganize, update, freeze, lock, and delete drawings.

The user can also organize file documents, such as PDF, NC, and DWG files, and drawings, in document categories, and search documents and open drawings.

Document manager is replacing drawing list from the version 2018i onwards.

Drawing objects no longer change place in rotated views, when a drawing is opened.

Now the placement of angular dimensions, radial dimensions and curved dimensions with orthogonalview projection that displays objects in right-angles projection

In orthogonal model view the size of the objects is the same despite of their distance to the viewing point and the zoom remains on part faces.

Full crash dump files are now created by default in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Trimble\Tekla Structures\<version>\Feedback folder. The Support tool is launched automatically and it will collect the relevant information for users.

Users with Viewer or Project viewer roles can now join shared models again.

Previously, when you modified drawing properties in a shared modelmodel used for collaboration over the Tekla Model Sharing service

With a shared model, each user works with their own model and the changes are shared through Tekla Model Sharing. A shared model requires the use of a single-user model. The same model cannot be a shared model and a multi-user model.

The local coordinate system is represented in a model by a symbol with three axes (x, y, and z). This symbol indicates the direction of the model. It is located in the lower right corner of the model view.

In a drawing, the local coordinate system symbol has two axes.

When you selected assembly objects using the ALT key and the assembly contained a macrosaved series of actions that includes instructions for a program

Macros are located in the applications and components catalog. They are recorded or created manually and stored as .cs file in a folder defined with the advanced option XS_MACRO_DIRECTORY.

Macros can, for example, be used for creating drawings or reports.

Macros are sometimes used to run an application.

, inquiring the center of gravity caused Tekla Structures to crash. This does not happen anymore.

TTSD-30247 Modeling

Previously, when you had modified parts with bolt groups and tried to undo the changes, the Undo command did not work correctly. This has now been fixed.

Previously, certain Logitech mouse drivers could cause a crash when the middle wheel was tilted (horizontal scroll). This has now been fixed.

TSAC-4127 Modeling

Linear array tool: When copying objects, if you do not enter the number of copies, Linear array tool now takes the number of copies from the defined space distances between the objects. 

TTSD-35464 Tools and components

Modifying a system componentcomponent that is included in a Tekla Structures configuration and whose component objects and composition the user can modify within the limits of the component properties

previously produced a status bar message: Outdated component was updated to match the current component definition. Now the message is only displayed for modified and updated custom components.

The part numbering seriesset of identifiers defined by the user, based on which Tekla Structures compares parts, assemblies, cast units, or reinforcement with each other during the numbering and gives position numbers

Numbering series is defined by a prefix and a start number.

The user can, for example, allocate separate numbering series to different phases or part types.

Export ELiPLAN file (68) improvements:

  • The Export of weep holes setting on the Plotter data tab:
    • At end zones only (previous option Yes): Provides weep holes at the slab end zones of the hollowcore only.
    • At end zones and filled cores: Provides weep holes for the end zones of hollowcore and also adds weep holes on the both sides of any filled cores. Filled core parts can be specified by classpart property that groups parts according to identifiers given by the user
