New features and improvements in 2019 SP9

In addition to fixes, Tekla Structures 2019 SP9 contains useful improvements in Document managertool that is used for listing and managing drawings and other types of documents

With the document manager the user can, for example, reorganize, update, freeze, lock, and delete drawings.

The user can also organize file documents, such as PDF, NC, and DWG files, and drawings, in document categories, and search documents and open drawings.

Document manager is replacing drawing list from the version 2018i onwards.

IFC2x3 export: The export now works also when you have defined a base pointpoint in a model that is used to define a starting point in surveying and that is used as an anchor point in coordinate and height transformations

A Tekla Structures project can have several base points but only one of them can be the project base point.

Base points allow the use of another coordinate system needed for interoperability and collaboration. Base points can also be used in drawings, and in reports and templates. Model origin is the default base point in Tekla Structures.

Base points are also called control points.

A reference model is created in Tekla Structures or in other software and can be inserted to Tekla Structures. The reference model appears together with the model but it is not modified by Tekla Structures. The user can snap to reference model points.

For example, an architectural model, a plant design model, or a heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) model can be a reference model.

When the location of one rebar was adjusted manually, some rebar marks, also from other rebars, were moving. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-38604 Drawings

If a drawing had shorteningdeforming that decreases the modeled length of a part in a drawing by a value the user has entered

Shortening is used when the parts are manufactured shorter than modeled.

Drawing snapshots make it possible to have a quick look at any drawing without opening the drawing. Snapshots are used, for example, for finding a certain drawing edition. Snapshots can be viewed in Tekla Structures but they cannot be edited.

If the value of XS_COLLECT_MODEL_HISTORY is FALSE when you start sharing a model, the Start sharing command will change the value to TRUE automatically. Previously, From plane offsets for tapered curved rebar groups were not always working correctly. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-38837 Reinforcement

Mirroring single leg rebar groups now works correctly for groups where the first or last bar is excluded.

TTSD-38648, TTSD-39096, TTSD-39705, TTSD-37163, TTSD-39015 Modeling

Previously, the construction arcconstruction object that represents an arc defined by three points

and construction circleconstruction object that represents a circle

creation commands did not follow the snapping depth (Plane/3D/Auto) and snapping plane type (View/Work). This raised several issues, in particular:

  • When creating construction circles by center point and radius in the plan view, the circles were created at different elevations depending on the start point.
  • When creating construction circles by three points on the plan views, the command snapped to points on objects, causing the resulting circles to be out of the plan views.

These issues have now been fixed. The construction arc and circle commands now follow the snapping depth and snapping plane type.

TTSD-40397 Modeling

Rebar sets: The hard-coded leg connection tolerance has been changed from 0.001 mm to 1 mm so that small inaccuracies in the leg faces do not prevent the legs from being connected to form one bar.

TTSD-40381 Modeling

Previously, the Zoom Selected command did not work in the model viewview that is represented in the modeling mode

Model view is available also in the drawing mode and it is represented in its own window.

Tekla Structures no longer crashes when using the arrow keys to move up and down in the list of models. Previously, Tekla Structures could crash when there were so many models that all of them could not fit in the window at the same time.

Export Unitechnik export (79): For double walls, a different modeling method and the cast unit hierarchy caused that not all panels were correctly handled in the export. This has now been fixed.

EliPLAN Export (68): Previously, revision marks were sometimes not exported for other objects than hollow core slabs. This has now been fixed.

Export ELiPLAN file (68): When irregular cutouts exceeding the contour consist of multiple polygonal cuts, the amount of the exported plotting lines is now optimized.

Export Unitechnik (79): You can now specify how the SLABDATE maximum part length and width are exported by using the Maximum dimensions setting on the SLABDATE block data tab.
The options are:
