2018i SP9: Faster to change object level settings in drawings

Previously, when you selected several drawings in Document managertool that is used for listing and managing drawings and other types of documents

With the document manager the user can, for example, reorganize, update, freeze, lock, and delete drawings.

The user can also organize file documents, such as PDF, NC, and DWG files, and drawings, in document categories, and search documents and open drawings.

Document manager is replacing drawing list from the version 2018i onwards.

Object level settings can be defined when creating a new drawing or when modifying an open drawing.

Object level settings can be use in a drawing or in a drawing view in order to change the representation of the chosen drawing objects.

for the drawings, Tekla Structures showed a confirmation dialog box for each drawing separately. Now updating is much faster if you have selected many drawings, as Tekla Structures only shows the dialog box once, and you can confirm the change for all drawings at once.

The grid is defined by coordinates in 3D space. It is shown two-dimensionally on the view plane by dash-and-dot lines. A grid can be rectangular or radial.

It is possible to have more than one grid in a model. For example, a large-scale grid for the entire structure, and smaller grids for some detailed sections.

It is also possible to show grids and grid line labels in drawings, and to modify how they are shown in the drawings.

: Previously, when the row sort type of a template was set to None, the row order could sometimes change. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-20200 Drawings

Previously, when you printed drawings to plot files, when a revision was included in a plot file name that contained a period (for example, a date), the revision text was not inserted in the correct location. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-39160 Tekla Model Sharing

Previously, downloads were occasionally jammed in the Tekla Model Sharingcloud service for collaboration and for storing and sharing a model

Tekla Model Sharing is one of the Tekla Online services.

service when reading in or joining a model. This was most likely related to limited internet bandwidth when several packets were read in or when joining a large model. The issue has now been fixed in this service pack.

If you are a Tekla Model Sharing on-premises server user, note that this Tekla Structures service pack is not compatible with on-premises server versions older than version 3.13.9. To continue using Tekla Model Sharing, you need to update the Tekla Model Sharing on-premises server to version 3.13.9.

Tekla Model Sharing on-premises server version 3.13.9 is downward compatible. All previous Tekla Structures versions in which Tekla Model Sharing is available, starting from Tekla Structures 21.0, work with this server version.

TTSD-38820 Tekla Model Sharing

Previously, when inviting users to a shared modelmodel used for collaboration over the Tekla Model Sharing service

With a shared model, each user works with their own model and the changes are shared through Tekla Model Sharing. A shared model requires the use of a single-user model. The same model cannot be a shared model and a multi-user model.

in the Start sharing dialog box, the email addresses that had capital letters were temporarily shown as duplicated in the list of users until you reopened the dialog box. There were also issues in receiving email invitations to the model. Now this has been fixed.

TTSD-37993 Tekla Model Sharing

Previously, excluding a folder from sharing only worked for folders directly under the model folderfolder that is used for storing files associated with a model

Tekla Structures stores all files associated with a model in a folder it creates with the same name as the model database (.db1).

In multi-user mode all users access the same model folder.

If the value of XS_COLLECT_MODEL_HISTORY is FALSE when you start sharing a model, the Start sharing command will change the value to TRUE automatically. However, previously the Sharing history dialog box did not show the sharing history, even though the value had been changed to TRUE. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-38386 Modeling

When merging complex parts by using the Added material > Attach to part command, Tekla Structures sometimes crashed. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-37491 Modeling

In the Snapping toolbar, the list for selecting the snap depth (Auto/view planeplane in a space that defines the view

Previously, in some rare cases, Tekla Structures could crash when you moved a custom componentcomponent that the user creates and uses for creating model objects whose composition the user can modify as a group

TTSD-25375 Licensing

Administrators can now set a registry setting so that the license expiry messages will not be seen by users. This can help in situations where overnight processing is run using Tekla Structures - the overnight processing is not impacted when licenses have less than 1 month until the expiry.

TTSD-37957 Installation

When importing .tsep files with Tekla Structures extension manager, Tekla Structures shows a message that asks whether you want to delete or keep the original .tsep files. This message has now been improved. The Yes and No buttons have been renamed as Delete and Keep to help you in selecting the appropriate action.

TTSD-33042 Installation

Model environment information is now taken from XS_SYSTEM. The folder under \Environments\ is used as the environment name.

TTSD-31795 Installation

Previously, .tsep system logging sometimes conflicted with virus scanners, which could cause issues in extension or environment installations. The .tsep logging has now been changed to make it more robust, and to allow scanning of the log while in use.

TTSD-35938 Tools and components

Previously, you could not open the dialog box of a .NET component published in the Applications & components cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

The rendered model object faces can be transparent or non-transparent

Export Unitechnik (79): The following options have been added on the Reinforcement tab:

  •  A new Reinforcement export type option called Designated welded bars has been added. This option works in the same way as Fabrication of welded rebars, but you can use it with the Collect based on option to designate the rebars that will form main layers with reinforcement type 1 or 2, while the rebars remain as RODSTOCK depending on object typedescription of a group of objects that share common characteristics

    The objects are grouped based on different characteristics in models and in drawings. Examples of model object types are beams and rebar sets. Examples of drawing object types are parts and marks.

  • A new Reinforcement type option called Use 1, 2 and UDA has been added. When you select this option, the lowest rebar layer,  including all bars in the same direction, is exported with rebar type 1, and all other layers are exported as type 2.
