User-defined attributes are used when the predefined object properties are not sufficient but more properties are needed. For example, comment, locked, and erection status are user-defined attributes.

You can now specify Production addition user-defined attributes for precast parts. This attribute is exported with Unitechnik export (79) to object's SLABDATE block as a representative number 00-03. The current options are Standard element, Balcony, Roof, Plastered element.

When a Tekla Structural Designer .cxl file is imported into Tekla Structures, the model is checked for existing items. If the model is empty, the project properties from the .cxl file will be written into the model's project properties. The Pop-marking options tab in the Pop-mark Settings dialog box now has a new setting Consider zero diameter holes as pop-marks that writes zero diameter bolt holes as pop-marks. If you do not select this setting, the bolt holes will be written as normal holes with diameter zero. If you select the setting Show pop-marks in the model, the pop-marks for the zero-diameter bolt holes will also be visible in the model.
In the example below, the new setting Consider zero diameter holes as pop-marks has not been selected on the left. The option has been selected on the right:

During the conversion from DSTV to DXF using macrosaved series of actions that includes instructions for a program

Macros are located in the applications and components catalog. They are recorded or created manually and stored as .cs file in a folder defined with the advanced option XS_MACRO_DIRECTORY.

Macros can, for example, be used for creating drawings or reports.

Macros are sometimes used to run an application.

 Convert_DSTV2DXF, the DWG viewer is no longer used.

With the new command Delete part marks you can easily delete part marks for parts that you have selected. This command comes in very handy when you do not want to show marks for neighbor parts or neighbor reinforcement, for example. You can delete all other mark types, except weld marks.
To delete marks, activate the Select parts selection switchswitch used for controlling which object types can be selected

, select the parts using a proper selection filterfilter used for defining which object types can be selected

Selection filter chooses model objects or objects in drawings according to object properties.

Selection filters can be standard or user-defined.

For example, selection filters can be used to select parts for drawings or analysis.

Typically, custom parts are used to create parts that have a complex composition. For example, castellated beams and sandwich panels are often created as custom parts.

With a shared model, each user works with their own model and the changes are shared through Tekla Model Sharing. A shared model requires the use of a single-user model. The same model cannot be a shared model and a multi-user model.

, the custom part objects were not correctly updated in the local versions of the model after read in when the custom part was updated in the original model in which it was created. This has now been fixed.

The steel bars are usually ribbed and they are used to increase the tensile strength of concrete.

The term surface treatment is used in concrete detailing. For concrete parts surface treatment includes surface mixes, tiles, and flat finishes, such as troweling and sandblasting.

The term surface finish is used in steel detailing. For steel parts surface finishes include fire-proofing and unpainted areas.

In Tekla Structures, advanced options are settings that are used, for example, in a specific project or geographical area, or by a specific company.

In Tekla Structures, advanced options usually begin with the initials XS and are followed by the name of the function, for example XS_BACKGROUND_COLOR.

 XS_FLAT_TOLERANCE and XS_FLAT_THICKNESS_TOLERANCE did not work in Tekla Structures 2016. This has now been fixed.

When importing .tsep extensions to Tekla Structures, the dialog box that lists the installed Tekla Structures versions now has the correct instructions to select the versions.

Previously, when you deleted all component objects and component parameters from a custom componentcomponent that the user creates and uses for creating model objects whose composition the user can modify as a group

, adding new objects to the component and then trying to save it caused Tekla Structures to crash.This does not happen anymore.

Now if you delete all objects and parameters from a custom component, Tekla Structures shows a message that you cannot save the component. You can either select to close without saving so that the custom component will remain as it was before you deleted objects and parameters, or you can select to cancel to undo the changes until the component contains at least one of the original component objects.
