Question:
My work area in the model is too big. I have run the Find distant objects but the system is not able to detect any distant objects. Still, whenever I run the Fit work area to entire model, my model disappears from the view as the work area is too big.

Answer:
There seem to be some distant reference points or something similar that the Find distant objects is not able to find. You can catch them using the following steps:

  1.     Have all the selection switches on.
  2.     Select all with Ctrl + A.
  3.     Hold down the Ctrl key and make an area selection over the actual model to deselect the actual model objects.
  4.     Press the Delete key.
  5.     Fit work area to entire model again - now the work area should be normal again.

Reason might also be a reference model, which has large extrema box. To check the coordinates of the extrema box, select reference model from the side pane, right click empty area in model view and select Inquire from the popup menu. In the Inquire dialog box the extrema box is shown like this:

Bounding box min [mm]         : x =   -2000.00 y =   -2000.00 z =     -13.20
Bounding box max [mm]         : x =   2600000.00 y =   2000000.00 z =    7200.00

If the difference of min and max coordinates is something like kilometers, then it starts to cause work area issues.
