This Custom Componentcomponent that the user creates and uses for creating model objects whose composition the user can modify as a group
adds edge angles along beams. It provides for a correct BOM on the drawings and in reports. It works so the total length is from the start point of the first edge angle to the end point of the last edge angle. You can adjust the setbacks from the beam end points and control the gapany space between two objects
The term gap is used in its general sense in Tekla Structures.

The edge angle can be moved from one side of the beam to the other by adjusting the option list on the Picture tab.
Closure plates can be turned on at the ends of the edge angle by the option lists on the Parts tab.
Enter the maximum length of the angles on the Parts tab – the remaining angle will be shortened as necessary to fit.
If the last angle does not overlap the beam it will appear red in the model.
If your beam has 9 edge angles, the 9th one can be made longer than the maximum length using the right end offsetpart property that is used to move the ends of a part, relative to the part’s reference line
field. When this happens the 9th angle will appear yellow in the model.
When bolting the edge angles to a beam, if either the left or right ends of the edge angle extend past the end of the beam the overlapping distance of those edge angles are smaller. For these instances you can use the FIRST or LAST controls located at the bottom of the Bolts tab.
Number of Bolts
When the Number of Bolts option is used, the middle field above the option image is used for the number of bolts.
This number will be used in all edge angles, regardless how much overlap there is with the beam.
If you want to control the number of bolts in the first or last edge angle, use the FIRST or LAST fields located at the bottom of the Bolts tab.
These quantities will be used to change the number of bolts used in the first and last edge angle.
When the Bolt Spacing option is used, the right field above the option image is used for the bolt spacing.
This spacing will be used in all edge angles, regardless how much overlap there is with the beam.
If you want to control the bolt spacing in the first or last edge angle, use the FIRST or LAST fields located at the bottom of the Bolts tab.
These distances will be used to change the bolt spacing used in the first and last edge angle.
If you want the FIRST and/or LAST values to again be controlled by the main Bolt Spacing distance or main Number of Bolts, then all you need to do is delete the value in the FIRST or LAST fields and click Modify. This will cause the FIRST and/or bolt groupgroup of bolts that forms a connecting building object between an assembly main part and secondary parts
The number of bolts in a bolt group depends on the bolt group shape and the values of bolt distances.
