Purpose and description

Using this component the user can quickly and easily input the main legs and arms of a transmission tower.

To use the component:

  1. From the component catalog select the Tower_Layout component

Options to turn off Levels 2,3 & 4.
The Parameters for the Levels are on the
corresponding Tabs.
NOTE! Level 1 is always Created.

Leg_Spacing.jpg
Option to specify the distance
between the ends of each leg in
the tower.
the Default value is 2.5mm each side,
so a total gap of 5mm.
A value of 8mm will give a total gap of 16mm.

Leg_Qty.jpg
1. Specify the quantity of leg parts in
this level of the Tower.
2. Specify the vertical height of the leg parts.
(only the number of parts specified are available)

eg. if you specify Quantity = 6, you can specify
a single profile for all, or 6 separate profiles, or specify profiles and a quantity.

Option to "Tile" or set in leg parts. 
(this lets the leg part extend to form a splice)
The  user specifies a leg part number.
The numbers are counted from the bottom of the tower.
eg. No 2 is the 2nd leg part from the bottom of the tower

  • Arm Level (given to gauge line of arm angle)
  • Arm Height (between arm angle gauge lines)
  • Arm Length (From Tower center)

Options to create 3 arms on each side of the tower.
Option to specify the settings for each arm level (Arm Type and attribute file)

 

Additional information

 

  • Arm sub components cannot be directly manipulated, the settings need to be corrected in the arm component directly and saved. Or the Tower needs to be exploded.
