This detail type extension creates two fastening plates on the rib location in the end of a double tee beam.

When the building is not rectangular, the most commonly used practice is to make double tee beams narrow a the other end and use the full width in the other. When there are several double tee beams like this next to each other, the fastening plates are not anymore next to each other as the double tee beam widths are varying.

1. Purpose and description

This detail type extension can be used manually in the cases explained earlier in this help file. The extension is also used by the other extension “Double tee beams connected at end”.

The extension is designed to work with standard double tee beam (parametric TT profile), precast element manufacturer Parma parametric TEKSLAB profile and precast element manufacturer Luja parametric SUPERTT profile.

Using Double Tee Top End Detail

The connection can be created from Component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications

The term component catalog is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.

. The connection name is “Double tee top end detail”.After starting the connection:

  1. Select the double tee beam part.
  2. Pick a point in the end of the double tee beam.

Additional information

Before using this connection, make sure that you have imported the necessary fastening plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.

(2) plate that represents a steel structure

(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.
