Image files

Tekla Structures uses image files in several places:

  • In templates in drawings

  • In drawing snapshots

  • In component dialog boxes and thumbnails

  • In drawing line types

  • In the surface treatmentbuilding object that represents finishing of a part

    The term surface treatment is used in concrete detailing. For concrete parts surface treatment includes surface mixes, tiles, and flat finishes, such as troweling and sandblasting.

    The term surface finish is used in steel detailing. For steel parts surface finishes include fire-proofing and unpainted areas.

  • In the Master Drawing Catalog for thumbnails and sample images

  • In profile properties dialog boxes

The following image file formats are supported in Tekla Structures:

  • In templates: bmp, gif, grd, jpg, ppm, pgm, rle, tiff and xkrl

  • In drawing snapshots, and int thumbnail and sample images for the Master Drawing Catalog: png

  • Other situations: bmp
