Insulation of insulated walls (insulated double-walls, sandwich walls, insulated wallplate that represents a structure such as a wall or roof panel

In Tekla Structures, a panel is created by picking two or more points.

In cast-in-place concrete the term wall refers to a concept similar to panel.

panels) is typically modelled as one big object. That is not accurate detailing and the optimization of the materials and work is pushed to be assembler trouble. This component will detail insulation automatically to actual sizes of insulation panels that will be used in manufacturing. It's easy to optimize the distributions of insulation panels, so you can reduce waste in manufacturing.
Automated fabrication may require the data from individual insulation panels and this tool is also sufficient for that kind of customer needs.
Tool is generic component to split any panel or plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.

(2) plate that represents a steel structure

(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.

into smaller pieces. It can be also used for modeling grating or masonry work.

Activate the Panelizer tool from the applications and components catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications

Select panel or a slabplate that represents a concrete structure

In Tekla Structures, a slab is created by picking three or more points.

Slab may be part of a floor, for example.

object as input.

Tool creates cuts for the input object so that the input object will be the bottom left panel of the panels. You can edit therefore the input object geometry by selecting that panel and edit it's geometry.

Picture tab page:

1. Control the panel distribution in x direction

  • Maximum width of the panel
  • Flexible space when total length of the input object does not distribute evenly with the panel width
  • Gapany space between two objects

The term gap is used in its general sense in Tekla Structures.

    between the panels

2. Control the panel distribution in y direction

  • Maximum width of the panel
  • Flexible space when total length of the input object does not distribute evenly with the panel width
  • Gap between the panels

3. Offsets of the panels from edges

4. Distribution style

Openings tab page:

  1. Placement aroung openings, if panel edges should match the opening edges
  2. Cut around parts is for creating a cut to panels where there are parts. You can define a selection filterfilter used for defining which object types can be selected

Selection filter chooses model objects or objects in drawings according to object properties.

Selection filters can be standard or user-defined.

For example, selection filters can be used to select parts for drawings or analysis.

for those parts you want to be cut aroung from.

When selecting the component, there are direct modificationfunction that activates the mode where the model objects can be modified by using handles

Direct modification enables additional handles and modification options.

features for editing the panelization

  1. Lines appears to locations where panel is not maximum size. There it is possible to move the gap location by dragging the line
  2. Delete buttons appears to gaps that can be deleted without making a larger panel than defined in the maximum width and height
  3. Add gaps to locations where gaps may have been deleted
